The three-month blood sugar test, explained

Fasting sugar says normal, HbA1c says pre-diabetic. A patient film that explains how both can be true.

The problem,
and the picture.

The brief

Patients get an HbA1c percentage on a lab report and nobody tells them what it is a percentage of. The film had to explain the test, the three-month window and the diagnostic bands, then give practical steps for an Indian diet.

The approach

Fasting sugar is drawn as a camera snapshot and HbA1c as a film reel of ninety days of meals. Inside a blood vessel, sugar sticks to a red blood cell and never lets go, so each cell carries a diary of its 120 day life. Billions of cells then resolve into the one number on the report.
