Podcast clip edit
A 36-second podcast clip, shown before and after our edit: words on the beat, punch-in zooms, and a short scene for every number he says, from 300 flyers to 150,000.
The problem,
and the picture.
The brief
Show what an edit adds to a podcast clip: the same story, with every number turned into something you can see.
The approach
The clip keeps his own order and is cut tight, with a 1.5 second stutter taken out. Key words sit on his chest, below his face, with punch-in zooms on the big lines. Each number he says gets a short scene of its own: the bin of flyers that didn't work, 5,000 flyers raining into a pile, the printing press, and 150,000 next to 300. Sound effects are made for the edit; music is left off so a trending track can go on in the app. The film plays the raw clip beside the edit, so you can see what changed.
